Children's Ministry

Vision: A clear picture of what we want the ministry to look like

To be a church that teaches and models for children how to become Christ-followers.

Mission: The Purpose of Kids Kingdom

To help children to know and love God by becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ—Kid Sized!

Values: Standards by which we evaluate the ministry

  1. Child-Targeted — In order to accomplish our mission, we must be child-targeted in our approach.
1 Corinthians 9:22: To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.
  2. Safe — We want the children’s ministry to be a safe place for children.
Mark 9:42: And if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck.
  3. Relevant Teaching — We value relevant teaching that is application oriented to reach today’s children.
Psalms 119:11: I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
  4. Teach the BIBLE Creatively — We want to teach the BIBLE creatively in order to reach today’s children.
2 Timothy 3:15-17: …and how from infancy you have know the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that they man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
  5. Intentional Shepherding — We value intentional shepherding through out small groups, where we can model an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 2:2: And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.
Acts 2:44-47: All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and good, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the LORD added to their number daily those who were being saved.
  6. FUN — We want children’s ministry to be a fun place for all children.
John 10:10: I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.

Strategies: The process by which we accomplish our mission and vision

  1. Operations: How safety, security, tracking volunteers and children, budgeting, and facilities are handled in the ministry.
  2. Shepherding Adults: How community is created with staff and volunteers and how they are selected, trained, discipled, and developed.
  3. Shepherding Kids: How kids are cared for, discipled, and known in small groups, as well as how infants to three-year-olds are cared for.
  4. Curriculum: What the children are taught and how the teaching is communicated. Creative Programming: How the curriculum objective is delivered through gifted communicators.
